Home Bits- Prepping for a Guest

We have been living in our house for a year and a half. In that amount of time, we have had a spare bedroom decorated for most of that time, however never have had a guest stay in it. Til now! Okay, this weekend, but still. I know some love to be the hostess with the most-est, not exactly my cup of tea; with all the cleaning prep that comes along with that and re-arranging. Although, the decorating and getting all the little things out for guests? Now that, I do love.

I honestly don't even know how long it has been since I started adding guest room ideas to a Pinterest board. I've saved all these cute little details that make you feel like you're staying in a sweet bed and breakfast, and couldn't wait to add my own little twist.

Now where do you start? A comfy and cozy bed for me, is always item number one wherever I stay. Whether that's a hotel or at home, I want a big marshmallow bed with tons of blankets and pillows. This time of year that always starts with flannel sheets, lots of blankets layered and of course topped with a snuggly comforter.
Next up, linens. Other than bedding, cozy towels are always a nice touch. It's always the little things to me that makes everything feel a little more like you're at home. In addition to the linens, extra tolietries are handy in case they were forgotten in the packing process. In case you couldn't tell, I stock up and save anytime we're at a hotel, specifically Disney ones! And of course a little fun activity book kind of acts like your not so traditional guest book.

Some of other fun and cozy parts to the room! This little corner is a great little reading nook, tons of pillows and a bin of extra blankets are great for curling up with a good book or a magazine.

Lastly, and one of my most important items for any room is a scent. Whether that be a candle, a plug-in and in this case, a reed diffuser. I have reed diffusers all of over our house, and they are great! They add a touch of scent without being overwhelming. It especially helps with the eau de dog scent we have, especially since the pups have claimed this as their playroom.

Thanks for reading and welcome to a little peek at our Club Haus!
