With a new hair color, that means new beauty items! I did purchase three of the four beauty treats while my hair was still green, however I got them knowing my hair would be blonde soon. This round of beauty treats are: ColourPop's eye shadow palette- Double Entendre, L'Oreal Paris x Balmain lipstick in Urban Safari, ColourPop's Buffy matte liquid lip color and Benefit Cosmetics Bad Gal BANG mascara. Alrighty, let's go!
ColourPop's Double Entendre shadow palette: This palette comes in at $16, and for twelve shades that's a pretty good steal! The pans are decent size considering the price of the palette. It has a great selection of mattes, metallics, and shimmer shadows. They all give incredible pigment (with the exception of one so far, I think it just needs to be layered over something else). There definitely is some fall out in the palette however not on the skin. So, all in all, not too shabby! I have been using it every day since I got it, and it worked great with my green hair as well as my current blonde hair. Definitely well worth it!
L'Oreal Paris x Balmain's Urban Safari lipstick: This isn't my first rodeo with L'Oreal lipsticks. This collaboration seems to have the same scent and same lasting power, so they are pretty standard. I must say the best part about this lipstick for me is the packaging. My Mom for sure had a lipstick when I was little that had similar packaging, and I always thought the bold emerald green shade was so beautiful. Story time is over! The scent I'm not the biggest fan of; I'm not sure what it's meant to smell like, however I don't really enjoy it. It isn't terribly offensive that it puts me off from wearing it. I really enjoy the shade and lasting power, it's a great soft nude.
ColourPop's Buffy liquid lipstick: I have been a big supporter of ColourPop's liquid lip colors for almost two years now, and I have yet to be disappointed! I started with one shade that I wanted to be my wedding lipstick. I immediately fell in love with the shade, the formula and the lasting power. That shade was Midi, a gorgeous mauve-y, rose-y, light plum, pink. Hard to describe, however that is exactly it. Then of course I had to try some other gorgeous shades, a plum berry, a deep burgundy red and a deep neutral brown. All lovely! However, this time around I was looking for a lighter neutral. And boy, oh boy, did I get that with Buffy! I definitely thought the shade was going to be a bit lighter than it came out, however I'm glad it isn't. I feel like my complexion is light enough as it is, and something with a bit more pigment needs a little contrast. This is the perfect 90s nude-brown, and the lasting power is AMAZING. If you haven't tried them, get on it!
Benefit's Bad Gal BANG mascara: I was so excited to get this in my Ipsy bag! I could not wait to get this in and try it considering all of the hype behind it.Harsh opinion? I could take it or leave it. I like it paired with my favorite CoverGirl Lash Blast to get more thickness with my lashes. It looks okay on its own, however it can get really heavy or spider lashes easily. I wouldn't say this mascara is something you can throw on if you don't have a lot of time in the morning; if you have a little more time to play and focus on it, it works great. My favorite part about it? I really really enjoy it as a mascara for my bottom lashes.
