Updates to the Daily Jewelry Collection
I find that jewelry is probably, if not the most, personal item a person can wear. Why someone wears certain items, how they choose them, all incredibly personal. And that personal style can evolve and change overtime.
For me? I've always been a fan of items that have a story and have meaning. I also love things to be eclectic as they've been added over time. I'm not one for everything to match or be a set, and I love mixing metals. I want my rings to be the focus along with a bold watch, and everything else to be simple. Compliment while not competing.
The latest additions to my collection? Charms from Coach and the Eagle head ring from The Great Frog. Both of these have been items I was looking to add to my collection, and so glad I did!
Let's start with the one I have been wanting to add to my collection for quite a while. I don't know if you know the history of this amazing company, but I'm going to give you a little backstory. It's a rock n roll jewelry line that creates hand-crafted pieces that started in 1972. Each item they make are total standout pieces that make a statement. There are many rockers such as Lemmy Kilmister and Nikki Sixx that rock their awesome pieces and have inspired pieces they now sell, as well.
Being a statement ring lover, I have wanted to own a piece since I discovered them a few years ago. I follow them on social media accounts to always see what new things they have added to their unique selection. I went ages ago and discovered they sold an eagle ring, and since they will forever remind me of my Papa, I knew that was what I wanted to start with. I also found out that they had two additional shops, one in LA and another in New York. Seeing as we'll be in California in September, I was hoping to go then and have that be a special part of the trip. Unfortunately, I don't think we'll have enough time to stop there; so I just decided to do it early!
I'm so glad I went with this style of eagle from them, there are two more to choose from. It's the perfect size for my hand and goes great with my other rings. I look down and am reminded of my Papa and how he always said if you love what you do, you'll never work a day in your life. I love what I do, and this ring is something I worked hard for since it was a splurge. So incredibly worth it.
This little guy is quite the mash up! It's on a long chain that I got from Charming Charlie's. The skeletal elephant charm and the pearl charm are from Coach. The two outside beads are made from RavensArtBoutique on Etsy, check her out! The light one is my childhood dog's ashes and the darker one is flowers from my Papa's funeral. The middle one is sand from my favorite place. Essentially this necklace is me in a nutshell, It's very simple, doesn't compete with the rings, however it adds a little something to a plain t-shirt and jeans combo. And layered with a choker? I am all about it!
