The Boots That Dreams Are Made Of
The Winter boot of dreams does in fact exist. And I can't stop wearing them.
For as long as I can remember, I have had an extreme hate/hate relationship with Winter boots. They're big. They're heavy. They're clunky. And sure aren't attractive. Do they have to be the last one? Well, no. I suppose they don't. However, growing up in New England and having a Winter season that lasts truly ages (or it just feels that way); investing in a pair of Winter boots that I madly love and don't dread every time I look at them is really important. And to actually look forward to wearing them, well that's just a whole new feeling entirely.
I of course have my beloved hunter green Docs, and my classic brown riding boots, but up until recently only had one pair of very sturdy Winter boots that were truly out of function and most certainly not for looks. I mean, at all. They are still around just in case, but each and every time I wore them, I felt like I was a little kid going out to recess in the bitter cold and clunking around. Not exactly the look I was going for as a twenty something trying to make this Winter thing look chic
Well, til Vans created the bloody boot of dreams that look nothing like boots! Genius!
Of course as I was telling my Mom of my brilliant discovery, she reminds of a similar find from my childhood that was purchased for the same reason as now. My hatred of boots. They were a Winter boot that was indoor/outdoor, however they didn't fly according to the school rules. I mean, they clearly didn't see my vision. And that vision most certainly did not include clunky and ugly Winter boots.
I first introduced these great boots in my November Wish List, and was completely torn of what would be the smartest purchase. I was incredibly torn between these gorgeous olive green ones and these classic vans with a twist. I mean, I'm a sucker for something classic with a twist, and I am so incredibly psyched with my decision. They are my everyday go-to shoe for the Winter. If you are looking for something that is great for the Winter but doesn't ruin your overall look, definitely check these out! 100% worth the investment.
