What I Wore | A Touch of Nostalgia to Every Day

Who says you have to grow up?
Just because you're a so-called adult, it does not mean you have to stop enjoying those childhood characters. I'm fairly certain at this point it is apparent that I am a big fan of Disney. I'm a Disney kid at heart. Always have been, and always will be.
For me, Disney, as well as other childhood favorites, has always been a happy escape. Starting when I was pretty young, I had quite a few health issues. And because of that I had to grow up a lot more quickly than most kids my age. These childhood heroes and their stories became my happy place. To this day they are my hide away from the hum drum every day-ness of life.

And unfortunately for me, I don't live in Fantasyland. But because of that, I try to invoke it into my every day life.
My latest additions to my jewelry collection are these two, little delicate necklaces. The first being a layered star necklace from Tiger Fox Boutique. As soon as I found it, I fell in love. And of course it immediately reminded me of Peter Pan. Second star to the right, and straight on til morning. The shorter of the two also reminds me of Peter Pan. This little choker was a recent find on Amazon, and the sweet little thimble I got as a Christmas present from my Mom.
"I think it's perfectly sweet of you," she declared, "and I'll get up again," and she sat with him on the side of the bed. She also said she would give him a kiss if he liked, but Peter did not know what she meant, and he held out his hand expectantly.
"Surely you know what a kiss is?" she asked, aghast.
"I shall know when you give it to me," he replied stiffly, and not to hurt his feelings she gave him a thimble.

Sometimes I am all about the subtle hidden references. And then other times I like to have the more recognizable ones. I have been called Casper by fellow classmates for as long as I can remember. And you know what? I always took it as a compliment. Just like The Munsters and The Addams Family, I've always been a fan of the light-hearted spooky characters; Casper being no different. I absolutely LOVE this hoodie from FourKeepsTees. It is a thicker material and just so snuggly, plus, how cute is Casper the friendly ghost?
Then there's my beloved Disney Dooney and Bourke. This little gem I eyed the entire time on our first trip to Walt Dinsey World... And on our Honeymoon. Finally on the last day of our trip, I took the plunge and made the purchase. And I have never looked back! For one, it reminds me of the canvas that has always been in my childhood doctor's office. And then of course it reminds of our adventures and how much fun we have had, and how much fun we will have in the future.
Which is why I will always incorporate a touch of nostalgia to every day.

Thanks for reading!!
