What I Wore | Capsule Wardrobe

Capsule wardrobes are definitely a concept that I am fascinated by. I have attempted to  try them here and there, however never to the full extent. I'm hoping that this time is the real deal! I took all of my current weather clothes, as well as everything that is seasonal, and decided to lay it all out. Literally. I decided to lay every item of clothing I own out, and separate between seasons. I have always done something similar to this, but not as strict. And I've got to say, I really enjoyed it.
When it comes to organizing, I'm a mega nerd. No way around it. I find it incredibly satisfying and it makes me relaxed and happy. Each capsule wardrobe is separated by season, and the colors I love to wear that time of year. Spring is the transition from Winter neutrals to Summer brights, Summer is all the brights and light fabrics, Autumn with all the oranges, goldenrod, black and white and then holiday inspired Winter.
And by seeing everything laid out, there is no way around the fact that I have quite a few clothes. However, I'm hoping to be able to do a declutter at the end of each season and get rid of what I didn't get the mileage out of the past few months, and then make note of what I feel like I was missing for the following year a la The Anna Edit. If you haven't ever read her blog or watch her YouTube channel, you definitely need to. She makes all of my organizing dreams come true.
A few items I haven't included in each capsule wardrobe are: outerwear, bags and shoes. I would say I'm a slight collector of the first two. I love to collect vintage items or just stunning and beautiful items that to me are a form of art. Bags I typically use the same one for months until it strikes me to try a different one. And shoes? Well, I honestly don't have that large of a collection; shockingly enough, once upon a time it was huge. Another category not included? Formal wear dresses.
I can honestly say that each item in my wardrobe I love. Completely. It is completely mismatched, but that's what makes wardrobes and style so incredibly awesome. A whole combination of mismatched separates become a collective whole.
Stay tuned for more updates!

Thanks for reading!!
