Monthly Favorites, Thoughts and Feelings

Hair.
Once upon a time, I had short electric colored hair. It was my thing. My signature. Prior to that, I had long locks all the way down my back that I hardly wore down. And that was once a upon a time my thing. My signature. Two completely drastic looks. In the past few months I have been updating you on my hair transformation in the Hair Diaries. Since they began back in June, my initial goal slowly changed. And then again with the second post in August, things adjusted again. My hair is back to being completely mine. Color, texture, everything and no extensions; all me. It's been seven years since I've had it just as is and I'm seriously loving it. At first, it seemed a little weird and took quite a bit to adjust. In my head, I was prepping for a new color.. And then. It wasn't so weird, it felt right. To have a bob with waves in my natural dark hair just felt unbelievably right. And anyway, brunettes do it better.

Writing.
The past few months will definitely make this a Fall to remember. Lots of changes while also a lot of other things going back, or staying the same. The biggest habit I have gotten back into, and didn't realize how much I missed was writing. Back in high school I wrote a lot. I've never really been a diary or journal person, and not really writing my own fiction tales. But just plain old writing. I forgot how easy it was to get into the habit of, and now that it's a part of my daily routine, it's hard to imagine not doing it everyday. I've got my handy dandy little notebook and pen and sit down first thing in the morning with my coffee or relax and unwind at night. It's incredible how great I feel after, and it has brought so much insight to me. Which now makes me wonder why I stopped making time for it in the first place...

Shows.
Over the last few months, I have been watching two shows pretty darn consistently. As a comfort show that I have on in the background when I'm at home working on the blog or a local social media account (that's right, I'm running 3 accounts! How did that happen?) is Once Upon a Time. I loved it the first time and I'm definitely enjoying it this round, too. Plus, it's perfect to have on in the background for me to pay half attention to. Now, the show I love watching purely for entertainment and laughter is Rock of Love. Why yes, the very same Rock of Love that stars the one and only Mr. Bret Michaels. By all means, judge me on this one. It's absolutely ridiculous and over the top, it's so terrible. That's what makes it so great. And, that's what makes it so unbelievably funny. If you need a really good laugh, I highly recommend it! It's on Amazon Prime, you're welcome ahead of time.

Reading.
The past few months I sadly have not had as much time as I would like to read. Trying to be more efficient with my time management and juggle it all, doing pretty darn well with it I might add, I haven't been reading as much as I'd like. However, I have had time for two incredible books. The first being Dead Drive 4, it's brilliant, the best in the series. Read all my thoughts about it here. The second read I finally finished after years of off and on reading is This is Gonna Hurt by Nikki Sixx. It's a coffee table style book with his stellar photography accompanied with his incredible writing. The last part of the book really hit home for me, and definitely worth the read and perusal through. It will most certainly change the way you think. Isn't that a sign of great literature?

Thoughts.
Unpopular opinions. This first one seems incredibly accurate for the season, but Pumpkin Spice Lattes? Not good. Frozen gets way too much hype as a Disney movie, as did the live-action Beauty and the Beast movie. And for the multi-part finale? I think the cover of Sympathy for the Devil by Guns n Roses is better than the original. I know. As a rock fan, that's a cardinal sin. But Axl's vocals are extraordinary.  Speaking of Mr. Rose, I find Sweet Child O' Mine to be a completely overrated song. Same with Mötley's Dr. Feelgood, extremely controversial statements, I know.

Thanks for reading!!
