Holiday Sales & Treat Yo'self
This year I searched through I don't even know how many Black Friday sales, and didn't seem to find anything. Well, that's not altogether true. I had items on my wish list, or found items.. they just happened to not be a part of the Black Friday sales. Always the way, isn't it? I didn't have a ton of things on my list to start with, but wanted to see if they went on sale. While one didn't, the other one had a holiday packaging option which made for one happy girl!
Since I started really falling in love with runway fashion back in middle school, I have wanted to grow my collection. To some, they're just clothes. To me, they're works of art that I would love to continue to collect. And who knows, maybe one day have this incredible archive. The dream, right? Not everyone's? Well, alrighty then.
The first of two items that I purchased was a major splurge. I talked about this item's runway show back in June. I fell madly in love with the collection, then of course fell in love with several (okay, all) the items. The show in question is Moschino's Trick or Chic collection. Jeremy Scott is a genius. The show was done at Universal Hollywood, which is a-mazing. Perfect for the theme and made for an iconic show. Kind of reminds me of the show done on ANTM in Barcelona and the models were meant to get even more theatrical each walk. Oh yeah, we just threw it back to Caridee vs Melrose.
Anyway. Back to the show! This collection was this awesome blend of retro Halloween and kitsch with an adult twist. Which is right up my alley. I love how Jeremy Scott can take these things from our childhood (Teddy bears, Trolls, Barbie and of course, Halloween) and bring them into every day adulthood and make it fun!
I have been on the hunt for a Moschino belt since Miley Cyrus and Kourtney Kardashian started rocking vintage belts a few years back. No luck finding a vintage one or second hand one and I'm really glad I didn't. Because now I have one from a collection I fell madly in love with.
Each year, this time of year and in June (Christmas and my birthday) I like to splurge on something. I like to build my collection with pieces that will always remind me of that time in my life. 2019 has been a major year. A lot of changes and a lot of accomplishments and this seemed to be the perfect fit! So excited to style this up for many years to come.
The second little holiday package I got was the Black Opium duo from YSL. I absolutely LOVE this parfum. I ran out of it back in September, and I have been missing it so so much. It is a splurge for me in the fragrance department, but with a holiday set? It definitely makes it worth it! Excited to have it back in my life with this duo from Sephora.
All in all, a very successful afternoon holiday shopping spree and treating myself. Tis the season!
