My Bag Collection

Grab a cup of tea, coffee or your chosen beverage and come here and have a talk with your Uncle Oz. Is that proof that I've watched The Dirt one too many times? Highly likely. It's bloody brilliant.
Now that we have the Crue reference out of the way, let's into today's chatty post!
Reading magazines has always been one of my favorite past times, and early on it was just catalogs. In elementary school it was my American Girl catalogs that I would save and store, organized by date. Naturally. Then as I got older it was my wide collection of any magazine with Ashley or Mary-Kate Olsen on the cover. Teen magazines to fashion ones, I had them all. I would pour over the glossy pages and read them cover to cover, and when I absorbed all of its contents, they too were stored. By date and magazine title, naturally. I remember reading a feature with Hilary Duff in a Tiger Beat type magazine about being a shoe girl over a bag girl when I was twelve, and that started my question to answer that for myself. What kinda girl was I?
From Sex and the City to tours on Cribs or YouTube and Architecture Digest, we see these amazing wardrobes with their owner talking about if they're a shoe or a bag girl. And the thing is, there are so many other categories! Hats, sunglasses, coats and vintage in general; the list is truly endless. It wasn't until recently that it started to hit me. I love shoes, once upon a time I owned over 100 pairs (thank goodness for bed risers). But now? I have a significantly smaller shoe collection filled with shoes that I genuinely wear and love. Shoe styling is actually one of my more difficult areas. The rest of the outfit is so easy, but I don't always have the perfect shoe to complete the look. Something I'm trying to work on! An area that never seems to bore me or find difficult? Bags.
I have always loved a great bag. When I was little, it was using my Mom's old ones with the strap significantly shortened or Disney kids bags and as I got older the love grew. In high school after my back surgery I couldn't use a standard backpack. And that was fine with me! I used a variety of bigger purses or small totes instead. I had my favorites of course.. but I also loved to switch it up. And now I have a variety of kitschy bags to practically fun. Bags and purses that I truly love, and know that I will always go back to, I invest in. With that being said, I will also shop absolutely anywhere. If I love a bag, I'm going to have it in my collection whether it's from Walmart or Chanel. I tend to gravitate towards classic styles in fun shades, or I go for full on kitsch. One end of the spectrum or the other, what a classic Gemini move!
Bags are so much fun and can elevate any look to a whole different level. Black hoodie, a beanie, jeans and some chucks is pretty simple and standard. But add a fabulous bag to it in a vibrant shade? Takes it to a different place. They are something that will always fit you and more often than not, be in style. If they're trend driven, don't worry, they'll come back around. Needless to say, I'm a bag girl. And a hat, blazer and sunnies girl... But I digress. Bags are always something I go towards and love the really bold ones as a decorating piece. Just because you aren't using it right then doesn't mean you can't enjoy its displayed beauty. Just me? Alrighty then.
I welcome you to my current bag collection! I go through each and every bag featured in a standard image as well as how I have styled them up. Enjoy!
